SINGER-SONGWRITER-PRODUCER-PUBLISHER | NASHVILLE, NEW YORK

I was born and raised on the north shore of Long Island in Stony Brook, New York. The youngest of five children, I've lived many places, in small towns and big cities, worked a lot of jobs, traveled a lot, played music wherever I've been, and released a few records along the way.

On my birthday in August 2003, I recorded four songs with my friend, Gary Paczosa (Nickel Creek, Alison Krauss, Dixie Chicks, Dolly Parton, John Prine) and did a soft release, calling it Minutia Session. If you'd like to hear it, let me know and I'll burn you a copy. This followed up a 2002 EP I did in Bloomington, Indiana with rock's hardest-hitting drummer, Kenny Aronoff (Bob Dylan, Elton John, Mick Jagger, Sheryl Crow, John Mellencamp, John Fogerty, Melissa Etheridge). When I asked Kenny if he could say something nice about the experience, he said "I loved playing with Alan. He loves what he does and it was inspiring to be around him in the studio." Great guy that Kenny.

In March 2004, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee where I've shared music with a growing list of artists, writers and players. Check them out (partial listing): Beth Nielsen Chapman, Vince Gill, Jimmy Webb, Suzy Bogguss, Al Anderson (NRBQ), Gary Nicholson, Leslie Satcher, Matraca Berg, Jeff Hanna (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), Bill Lloyd, Jeff Silbar, Dan Tyminski (AKUS), Chris Thile (Punch Brothers), Bonnie Bramlett (Delaney & Bonnie), Jon Randall Stewart, Jessi Alexander, Pat Bergeson, Guthrie Trapp, Tommy Emmanuel, Muriel Anderson, Trey Gray, Nick Buda, Tim Marks, Rich Redmond, Harry Stinson, Ray Herndon, Brad Cole, Bobby Wood, Robert Lee Castleman, Dave Berg, Deanna Bryant, Gordie Sampson, Chris Wallin, Dillon Dixon, David Vincent Williams, James Dean Hicks, Lisa Carver, Lila McCann, Michael Peterson, James Slater, Joie Scott, Daryl Burgess, Wes Hightower, Chris Rodriguez, Fred Mollin, Rob Galbraith, Jaime Babbitt, Janey Street, Jay O'Shea, Mark O'Shea, Krista Marie, Amanda Williams, Jalayne Tradler, Steve Leslie, Andrea Pearson, Memarie, Katie Rogers, Nick Sturms, Jesse Rice, Eric Paslay, David Bradley, Dan Cohen, The Levees, Joanna Cotten, Dylan Altman, Eric Brace (Last Train Home), Murali Coryell, Paul Mabury, David LaBruyere, Dave Pahanish, Tom Bukovac, Hugh Mitchell, Emily West, Sarah Buxton, Lucie Silvas, Ben Cyllus, PJ Smith, Chuck Jones, Donny Anderson, Cassandra Kubinski, Josh Kelley, Dave Gibson (Gibson/Miller Band), Daisy Dern, Shawn Mayer, Julie Lee, Sarah Siskind, Jonell Mosser, Kevin McKendree, Will Kimbrough, Kenny Vaughan, Mike Farris, Mike Younger, Elizabeth Foster, Ron Block (AKUS), Mike Bub, PawnShop kings, Ross Copperman, Penny Dale, Leland Grant, Brad Tursi, Michael Visconti (Buffalo Rome), Arlos Smith, Brice Long, Kassie Miller, Chip Greene, Phillip LaRue, Jeanne Richardson, Jeff Cohen, Jamie Floyd, Andy Davis, Lex Price, Virna Sanzone, Thom Shepherd, Jessica Andrews, Billy Gilman, Jim Peterik, Big Kenny (Big & Rich), Mark Luna, Kris Bergsnes, Mika Combs, Bill Champlin (Chicago), Roger Cook, Buck Johnson (Whiskey Falls), Doug Johnson, Martin Remey, Lee Brice and many more.

Right now, I'm collaborating with artists, writers and players, playing shows in and out of town, and looking forward to whatever's next with excitement and gratitude. For more information including live dates, please visit me on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/alanbennettmusic.
